Kavinsky & Lovefoxxx - Nightcall

This is probably the BEST song from the “Drive” soundtrack.

Now I wanna know what’s on the rest of it.

Good Morning Baltimore - Marissa Jaret Winokur and the Hairspray Ensemble, Hairspray the Musical

This song is the best. Whenever it comes on I sing along or at least do soulful shoulder rolls.

Born This Way (Country Road Version) - Lady Gaga, Born This Way

I never bothered listening to the bonus disk I got with Born This Way. My sister just left for college and I gave her a bunch of music cause she doesn’t know how to download it. She texted me a while ago telling me this song was awesome, and she’s right, it is awesome.

Hafer Gabrak Bidi (I Will Dig Your Grave With My Hands) - Omar Souleyman, Jazeera Nights

This guy is pretty awesome. He makes Syrian dance music and all his titles rule. He has over 500 albums, most of which were recorded at weddings he played at.

Back in Black - Shakira, Live and Off the Record

So I got “Hips Don’t Lie” stuck in my head today and while going around getting my Shakira fix, I came across this track where Shakira does a pretty fucking cool cover of the iconic AC/DC track. It starts out in a pretty weird cooing tempo, and then the familiar rock instrumental starts up and well it’s fun don’t question it just go with it.

Do you think anybody has every been sad while listening to Aqua because I feel like it’s impossible.

Taxi Ride (Rome) - Keith Emerson, Inferno OST

I actually didn’t finish watching Inferno, but I at least got to the part where the lady is fleeing a library where a guy tried to shove her face in a cauldron of what looked like boiling vichyssoise, and then gets in a taxi and this music starts playing.

War Talk - Dominique Young Unique, Domination Mixtape

The pop-rapper savant known best for her insanely catchy single “Show My Ass” has put out two mixtapes that I’ve criminally neglected to listen to until recently. While her flow doesn’t always match the fevered fun of Show My Ass, the production on her tracks (such as this midi-sounding working over of Justin Bieber’s Baby) often are enough to carry things on their own. Combine those with her frantic shit-talking and distinct vocal work and you’ve got some boss mixtapes.

Rum Hee - Shugo Tokumaru, Rum Hee

Shugo Tokumaru is that rare kind of multi-instrumentalist who has mastered not just the stable of quirky instruments necessary to form a one-man big band, but also uses a variety of bricolage’d toys and items to produce a uniquely cute, almost innocent, sound that nonetheless is hypnotic.

The Cockfighter - Scott Walker, Tilt

Scott Walker is cool. He has a buncha albums whose styles range from Sinatra-style crooning to shit like this. He shares his name with union-busting Wisconsin governor Scott Walker but is cool instead of bad.

Headbanger - Pansy Division, The Essential Pansy Division

Sadly, Pansy Division’s stuff is honestly pretty interchangeable BUT that doesn’t make them any less cool (or fun for that matter)!!

A few years back, they made a documentary that basically chronicles how they formed out of growing up loving rock-n-roll but feeling unsatisfied with its heterocentric content, while also being disinterested in what was categorized as “gay music”. It also just generally talks about their band history (they opened for Green Day on the Dookie tour) and while it gets a little “talking heads”/interview heavy, it’s still interesting to watch.

Anyway here’s a song about fucking a str8 heavy metal boy.
